When a dog bites a man, it ain’t news,
But when a man bites a dog, say what?
Yet let the dog make gunsmoke blues.*
You want to say, “What a nut!”

And the defense will say innocent,
But the prosecution says not so,
As the case is setting a real precedent,
And this fired up each attorney.

Who huddled up in consultation,
From across country they did journey,
In legal commitment and fascination.
Courtroom was tick and flea free.

There are not any reservations,
The pooch has got a spotless pedigree,
In consequences of considerations.
A Grand jury of Bruiser’s peers.

The testimony that’s available
Makes the pound peak their ears,
The case’s integrity all but unassailable,
And there is a bone of contention.

What could the motive have been?
The victim had been of bad intention,
Guilty of a master’s gravest sin.
He made the defendant growl.

Neglecting his daily chores,
And when reminded he would scowl,
Shutting windows and slamming doors,
So the pup felt most offended,
And could not hide his disgust.

The master laughed and pretended
That he did everything he must,
And the case shall be amusing,
And certainly full of mirth.

It’s all so totally confusing,
The funniest thing for all it’s worth.*
So will the dog be tried and convicted of the dirty deed?
Will his representation be adequate to fulfill his legal need?

The mystery grows ever deeper and the more concerning,
With all the charges and the accusations that are turning.
Who is to be Bruiser’s champion & defender?
Who will step forth to manage his affairs as a contender?
